November 13, 2011 - Are you up for the Challenge?

An event for all ages and abilities

Premier Event

Battle of Champions – An invitation team of elite NZ Rowers and top Waikato Cyclists will battle it out in a time race over 100km and then on a rowing machine for supremacy on the day.

    100km Womens
    100km under 17yrs
    Livingstone 100km Three Person Relay Team - Code against code!
    30km Fun Ride
    Te A’ Cycles 12km Family Fun Ride (Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult)
    Bikes ‘n Trikes with Team Energize
    School team challenge

The record for the 100km is held by Peter Latham, set in 2008 of 2.20.47

Te Awamutu Rugby Sports and Recreation Club at Albert Park, Te Awamutu


From 8am to 9.15am, online and postal registration available

Entry fees
$20-$60 depending on age group and event. ($2 for entry to the Bikes ‘n Trikes)
Entry forms at bike shops or register online at or on the day from 8am

Prize giving
All riders eligible for amazing spot prizes
12.00 noon: 12km Family Fun Ride and Bikes ‘n Trikes
2.15 main prize giving

Cash/Spot prizes
Everyone riding on the day is also eligible for awesome spot prizes donated by local businesses.
There are cash prizes for the 100km Men’s, 100km Women’s, and 100km U17's and winners of the Battle of Champions.

On site

The Rotary Club of Te Awamutu, the Te Awamutu Sports Cycle Club, and Team Energize/Sport Waikato and is a not-for-profit venture.

$5 from each entry goes to benefit the Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust Classroom with further profits to provide scholarships for young people in the community.
