Mince/sausage meat/grated vege/many different varieties of black sauce, wrapped in pastry and cooked in two roast pans, . Ok so it seems like you guys are oblivious to the awesomeness of sausage pie. Dogsbollocks is getting close, our version of sausage pie is as follows:

Line a large pie/baking tin with pastry
Bottom layer is sausage meat, ideally you want a thickness of 15-20mm (purchased in tube form, not as individual sausages - although could be is you wanted to use schwanky flavours).
Spread a tin of spaghetti on top of the sausage meat.
Add three or four eggs, make sure you mix those suckers around as whole eggs in pies can also GTFO
Chop an onion and scatter on top
Add some mixed herbs if you're into that.
Add top layer of pastry, brush on some egg for golden goodness.
Bake.
Best served with copious amounts of T sauce.
Nom.

When you've got kids you can let them decorate the top of the pie with their shapes of choice.

Needs more mutton pie. The kind where you drill a hole in the side and pour out some of the fat before eating.

For bonus points, the McGregors page also have a good summary of NZ slang too: http://mcgregorsbakery.co.nz/keeping-ki ... -alive.asp Complete with voting.

BAcon and egg with CHEESE is pretty  it stops the filling drying out. Otherwise you can't go wrong with Steak and cheese
