Bah, he didn't even live up to my high standards :D

Too bad. Nice work from Southee there at the end, sucks that he didn't have Daryl to bat with though :(

Good cameo at the tail from Southee. Now he'll have to do something even better with the ball.

Southee, Watling and Taylor = passing marks. All others are fail.

Maybe it's an unpredictable pitch, Australia had the same sort of inconsistent performance (well actually, consistently poor apart from Kats).

Nah, Taylor wouldn't have been able to hit NZ's fastest ever century on a bad batting wicket.... I'm sure it's "helping" the bowlers a bit, but for all the players (aside from Katich and Taylor) they got out to sillyness. After Taylor done what he done "bad pitch!" isn't an asscuse for anyone.

Ponting sure as hell can't blame the pitch for the way he got out :D

I'm sure he'll be blaming something or someone - if he took personal responsbility for his runouts, he wouldn't have so many of them!

PS E Dogg, I miss the sloth-in-a-box. I might have to start a "Bring back the Sloth" thread!

Mcintosh is there to be the designated Mark Richardson isn't he? He's not doing too good at it :hmmm: Who else is a boring dull blocker in this country though?

Maybe if we change uniforms back to the dull and plain beige Katich will join our team in order to get away from the excitement and confusing feelings bright yellow and green causes within his loins?

Jeet Raval has been fairly impressive as an opener for Auckland, averaging around 55 after 11 matches.

Also in other new Jesse Ryder made his come back for Wellington today scoring a century, so he should be good for the 20-20 World Champs.

My daughters love Katich, they reckon the way he opens his eyes wide to watch the bowler coming in makes him look like a terrified little wabbit about to be run down by an oncoming truck. :D I like him because he doesn't bat like that! I think he plays the way a test opener should - he gets the scoreboard ticking over, he softens the ball and wearies the bowlers, he can score quickly if there is a need to.

It's nice to see Hussey's getting a bit of form back. I wonder who Ponting is going to blame for getting out so cheaply this time . . .
