Yeah he's been AWFUL. But I'd trade giving away one wide for a Ricky Ponting golden duck any day....

PB for one day cricket for Southee - 4 for 36.

Was impressed my Nathan McCullum as well, going for under 4 an hour. He could be useful at the T20 world champs in the West Indies.

Umpiring through out the whole series has been pretty poor though, they will have to think about bring the review system in to one dayers if there isn't a improvement.

Nathan McCullum, on the basis of that performance, deserves a decent go at a spot in the team. Great in the field, kept shit together at the end of a bad batting innings (occupied the crease, allowing NZ to use their full overs), then he bowled really good. Keeping a good spinner/batsman out of the team because there's already an excellent spinner/batsman in the team is durrrrr.

That's a surprise. With his habit of failing spectacularly at international level, he'll fit right in. :)

He's one of the dudes who they just never really stuck with like they probably should have. As soon as he had a few bad games they chucked him aside for the next guy, despite his obvious class. Two double centuries should have been enough to secure him a few extra chances when he had a bad spell.

With all of the poo-pooing of our batting, I think overall we have the strongest line-up in years, on actaul talent.

However what was glaringly obvious this series was the prolific occurence of brain-fade. All got themselves out. I don't recall any particulary stunning bowling displays by the Ockers. Taylor in particular looks good enough for any team, but pulling shortballs 3 feet outside off is stoopid.

If the Kiwi's can show some backbone and patience in the tests, we'll get plenty of runs.

However, what is also horribly obvious is our lack of bowling firepower, so the Ockers will also get shotloads of runs.

So, it'll come down to mettle. OZ wins.

Yup. I wonder where he'd be if they didn't piss about with Marhsall etc.

It sounds like Sinclair is only in as cover and is unlikely to start.

If there's an early game it starts at 11:30 pm and the night games starts at about 3:20 am.

Bond played his first game last night, bowled well for his first 3 overs then got smacked around by Dhoni in his last. But his team batted like crap anyway so it didn't matter - http://www.cricinfo.com/ipl2010/engine/ ... 19113.html
