Thanks for the messages everyone :)
seems like I'm not the only one who has lost the combo from central L/H. Cheap wagons are so desirable....
To keep some balance I should also say have had hundreds of really positive parking days here too - it's free and you never get towed!!

whoa... just read your story and that is the pits!!!! Really hope you get them back and keep on getting out and enjoying the country.

In less than a week the cops seem to have written off finding my car. Not a joy ride theft. Lesson: do not leave all your good outdoorsy stuff in the car on the offchance it's gonna fine up!!

Was my first mountain bike and been thinking about all the places it's been and how much fun was had on a low budget over about 16 months of riding. You can go a long way if you're prepared to sleep on the floor sometimes! Seems like a good time to thank everyone who organised those trips, and everyone who's waited for me, and "gone exploring" with me. A very special thank you to the Makara Peak Suporters who sorted out my bike set up hugely at their Bike Skills training back in 2008. And J'ville Cycles who put the FUN back into downhill riding with the tiniest of adjustments before Craigieburn.

I will ride again one day...
