That's a really interesting read.
It is very much focussed on the moneyed classes though. I wonder how it would have gone if working class women had been able to afford safety bicycles from the start in the late 1870s. Maybe the upper classes wouldn't have touched them, leaving those lower middle class women shameless enough to join the fun & practicality to lead the way for the masses.

I voted for Economic Sciences. I'm sure future economists will realise the car was a fucking stupid mistake and never actually worked at any stage of its development, if the accounting is done properly. Whereas bicycles are a model of economic efficiency.

I would suggest that to use the word scrotum in the same sentence as Donald j Trump is an insult to testicles across the world ,even those goat loving ISIS thugs have finer sweaty goat smelling scrotums than DT will ever be as a person .
I have met a great many people over the years and by far one of the biggest turds I have ever had the displeasure of spending ten minutes providing with personal security was Donald J after ten minutes he was possibly more at risk from me than the gaggle of reporters I was fending off his slimy ass.
In the first minute he asked me how much I earned then made a point of the seventy grand he made during the flight to NZ .... the entire need for my services was because he was too tight to get room service to deliver him a snickers bar and needed an escort to the shop, past all the reporters that he did not wish to speak to.
Just the mere fact that he is even being considered to be in the running for the president is a truly horrifying proposition ,(of course this is just my personal opinion of the man based on a few minutes conversation in a lift and another few minutes of shoving people out of his way whilst saying no comment) ,who am I to disagree with the combined wisdom of the American public if they vote him in .

anyway my vote is for physics ,for the bicycle is truly a beautiful machine ,unlike old Trumpys hair

So you're saying you wouldn't take a bullet for the Trump?
What kind of commitment is that? No work ethic.

Nowadays I would only take a bullet for someone worthy (which is becoming a shorter list by the year), back then ,(If i happened to get in the way by accident) maybe for the Trump out of a sense of professionalism but I wouldn't have been at all happy about it lol ,I think he was significantly more in danger of opening his pie hole and blabbing some crap to the local news reporters than someone trying to knock him off ,after all back then he was just another obnoxious rich prick and lets face it in the nineties there were more than a few of those .
The trump even tried to give me a tip, a whole 50 cents with the sage advise that if he could make a fortune with this much money then it would be possible for me with hard work and wise investment. I politely advised him that in NZ tips are not necessary and left him with his 50 cent fortune .
I was pissed when my boss rang me a couple of days later and cheerfully advised me that DT was very happy with my services and wanted me to accompany him next time he came back to NZ ,fortunately his deal for the casino didn't fly and he never returned .

He could make a fortune with 50c, but he didn't.

He inherited a pile, there was an economist on national radio last week who pointed out Trump could have invested his inheritance and sat on his hands, he'd be about as rich as he is now.
