Nope, it ain't just you at all. I think the 888 sounds "musclier" than any of the 916/996/998 range (by musclier, I mean a throatier soundy exhaust note) and the 749s & 999s don't quite have the same tone at all - it's like they've slighted strangled it. The 916 range have a great noise! Damn I wish I owned 1!

My little stroker's upset a couple of 749 owners by being louder than them and they were both running open mufflers (although my bike admittedly sounds like a stupidly loud chainsaw running NOS) :D and I'm definitely a LOT louder than a stock 999....kinda sad really when Japanese 2 strokes are louder than Italian Superbikes.

I've always loved being thumped in the chest with the bass from a good sounding Ducati's exhaust. Best I've heard to date (in person), was Robert Holden's last race bike @ Motorrad - it shook every single tool in the workshop in time to its idling freq. whilst sitting on the work-stand and I mean EVERY tool - then when the mechanics started to warm it up properly - holy cr@p - it was like someone had hooked up a jackhammer to the building's foundations. Seriously cool and I had a non-motorcycling friend with me who basically stood there and shook in fear :D
Out of all the euro bikes I would have to go for a 916.
I might settle on a trumpy dayota tho

Damb thats got to be rather loud and raw, where do I get one :eh:

One of my favorite RG500's of all time - Mark Dent's 140 BHp RG500 street-bike, running NOS (slow'ish link):

(Sports-bike stunt video 7 minutes - some good riding, gets a bit repetitive - I prefer the Trials video above, but the sports bike guys have some amusing stuff too)

Motorcycle Stunts Gone Wrong - 3min compilation of crashes
(I've seen most of these before but the 2nd to last endo @ 2m 35s looks painful)

Ummm, who's driving the Vette ??? no - one - that's the whole point - it's a copy of the motorcycle "shoe surfing" trick, but done with a car - which is kinda nuts! It must have cruise control, but the person doing the trick is placing a LOT of trust that their car will run straight - or they've secured the steering wheel some how...

Yep, the RXV / SXV are probably the sexiest off-roaders ever built (IMO)....yummy Italian goodness...

And what is it with your skid obsession ? :D

Yep.

Photo's were taken last year before it was announced he had signed with Ferrari.

The story at the time was he was storing it for a friend. But he had the keys incase he wanted to take it for a drive.
