Before the race is fine. If a team can afford a pit to prepare a bike for a specific race then that's fine and that's what they've done previously. Between the start of the first stage and the end of the last, I have a problem with that.

It was during.

Yup, me too.

To me it just undermines the whole one bike philosophy that sort of underpins the enduro thing.

He needs to run a pair of rings on the front and perhaps he could fit some sort of device to move the chain between the two sizes.

Hey bro, I was talking to this really old school dood the other day. He was telling me that way back in like the 80's they worked out how to run three chain rings. They had some funny french name for the moving thing. Pfft, aren't we lucky that never caught on! :music:

We were talking about Induro back in 2008.

It was difficult to get to grips with back then, too. I think the best bike is a Blur LT, though... or is it?

changing a 34 for a 48 I could understand, but swapping a 34 for a 36 - dude needs to train more and learn to push bigger gear, he's just weak

It's only the best if you can get mates rates on it

My 2009 Specialized Enduro was an All Mountain bike. All Mountain was in between Trail and Downhill.
Everyone thought All Mountain was a bullshit, made up category.
So now it's an Enduro bike (wheel size not withstanding).

I'm also ignoring the fact Specialized still refer to it as All Mountain.

Anyway, I blame Specialized.

Enduro had always meant this to me:

But now I'm sorely tempted to enter a MTB Enduro, looks like a great format, (and an excuse to get another bike....)
