819ssssssss! :)

Not that I've actually used dt4.2s :paranoid:

I think the dt's are considerably lighter duty though? My 819s are still going strong after a year of muppeting through christchurch rocks.

I had issues using non ust tyres (maxxis advantages), so I just chucked some ust ones on and they work great, with or without sealant. One of these days I'll try the non ust thing again, pretty sure the advantages just had too flimsy sidewalls.

does anyone have any idea what 819's + Hope 2 + DT Swiss Competitions would weigh (excluding QR)?

Screw you Butch.

I had hardly started to think about it, but I think you have answered the question right there.

Around 1800 - 1850g for a hope/819 set.

I've had a couple of sets of ProII/DT4.2's running DT Tubeless system. Both from CRC and build quality fine. They came in a bit lighter than 819's - although the DT Rims are a bit softer. I used to flat spot my rear rim on the Heckler often on Port Hills rocks with my less than gracefull technique. Thinking of getting 5.1's or 819's for the next set. Wee bit heavier but last a bit longer.

or new mavic en521s - bit wider than the 819/719 (without all the weight of the trust ex721), welded (but not maxtal like a 721/719/819), cheap - not too heavy (40g more than a dt ex5.1). Cheap too...

if you want to run UST 819s are great - but if you're running tubes they're kind of heavy (once you factor in the weight of those funky fore nipples)
