I would ask, what the statistical odds are, of a bike (of which only 200 were ever produced, in only 2 colours), turning up with someone trying to offload it, in the same city as one was stolen, the very day after it was stolen, that also happened to have been custom repainted and restickered, just like the one that was stolen. Quite low I suspect.
Sounds like Josh from Around Again. He's good at spotting dodgy bikes. Sometimes it must be so obvious when a guy shows up in hi vis and overalls with a flash roadie... Hopefully there's a result here.
Wtf didnt the shop he try take it to have a name and address for the dude? Make them give it to you, call the cops, tell them some fuckhead has your bike and tell them to go take it back. That or go round there yourself and smash his knees with a tyre iron.
I picked her up from the central station after work. Apart from a new scratch and my slightly busted light being properly busted, she's exactly how I left her. So stoked to have it back.
It was surrendered by the guy who presented it to the bike shop. Seems like he isn't a particularly bad guy, just keeps bad company and is a bit misled. Hope he feels better knowing he did the right thing. Be even better if he leads the cops to the original thieves.
Many thanks to Josh/el booto at Around Again Cycles. His keen eye has helped myself and many others recover their lost steeds. Hope he likes beer
