Stolen - Auckland - 2 Mountain Bikes

Postby chrisbobGS on Mon 6th Feb 9:42pm

Taken from Glen Innes with some nifty boltcutter work last week.

15" ladies Jamis Dakar XCT in silver

Medium Kona Coilair in green

Not the best welcome present to the big smoke after only 10 days here. Uck :(

Watch Trademe.co.nz, contact all the local bike stores (they quite often ID dodgy bikes that are bought in for servicing), plus other second hand dealers like Cash Converters. Contact the police too if you haven't already.
Good luck :)

You've filed a report with the Police yes?
GI hmm, I moved out of GI in '02 because of all the dodgy sh!t there

I wouldn't expect them to pop up anywhere in the short term unfortunately as it's likely that they will be used as payment for drugs and the dealer who gets hold of them will probably sit on them for a while (stashed with the rest of their loot)
Cops raid plenty of drug dealer houses and confiscate lots of stolen stuff but never find the owners of the items so it's important you let the Police know

Don't think you will never see them again as possibly months down the track they may appear somewhere
Keep at as many second hand dealers and pawn shops as you can and remember to bump this thread every now and then to refresh peoples memories

Try these sites, although I'm not sure how active or useful they are...worth a shot though

If I remember right...GI Police station is on Line Rd behind the shopping centre...get to it!

Hey, does the Kona have fox 36 forks and maybe a minion front tyre and a badly worn highroller on the back? If so, I saw it been ridden by a maori/island guy in Panmure town centre, so if that sounds like it, it's still kicking local.

Hey my bike was stolen a while back, I went for a drive through town to see a little shit riding it the next day. So you never know that It wont turn up soon, Just keep your eyes open and look around obvious spots. Sorry I wasn't alot of help but just hearing some positive stuff is good sometimes!

Hey Mamoi, that sounds just like my Kona!!! Would love to get it back, eyes peeled. Moved from GI to Mt Eden now though so not much chance of spotting it rolling around town. Dang.

I ride through GI almost every night for training. Never had a problem with the locals.

Blockhouse Bay on the other hand - I swear those cunzors are deliberately trying to kill me.
