Spring Shuttle News

Rotorua News:
Southstar Rotorua is running the shuttle in Whaka forest, daily during the school holidays. Starting today Sept 28th - through to Oct 9th. Pick-ups 9.30am and 1pm from Waipa and every 30mins from the corner of Hill and Pipeline roads.

Daylight savings Tues and Thurs evening shuttles start this week, pick up 5.30pm from Waipa Carpark (no more Burger Fuel pick-ups). 2 buses will be operating.

Extended Play Saturdays (shuttle last run is at 5.30pm instead of 3.30pm) will start after the school holidays on Oct 17th.

Mark Upshall at Spadewerx is putting up regular trail maintenance updates on his website http://www.spadewerx.co.nz

Christchurch News:
Southstar Christchurch is running the Port Hills shuttle in Chirstchurch Tues, Wed and Fri from 1pm till dark for the school holidays.

Daylight savings Wed and Friday evening shuttles start this week. After the holidays finish they'll start at 4pm till dark.

Wet weather: Vic park is controlled by the Christchurch City Council. The only people that can update their website work weekdays in the city office and so the port hills rangers have to make a call on Friday afternoon if Vic Park will be open or not for the weekend. Unfortunately that means that if it's raining on Friday and fine Sat/Sun, the park is generally shut to riders. This is really frustrating for riders and for the shuttle! Southstar's website report updated daily on operating days will tell you if the shuttle is running or not.

Wellington News:
After a successful trial last weekend in Long Gully and a great race weekend this weekend, the shuttle will break for 2 weeks and commence operations on Oct 17th, running weekends and Tues/Thurs evenings. The weekend 9.30am pick-up will be at the junction just down from the Wind Turbine carpark (not at the wind-turbine it's too diffcult to turn the bus around there). The shuttle has a similar turn-around time to Rotorua, getting 6 uplifts morning and 6 in the afternoon.

All locations are subject to good weather conditions with updates daily on the southstar website. http://www.southstaradventures.com All tickets can be used in Rotorua/Wellington/Christchurch

Also, as a Wellington MTB Club member, you will 6 runs for the price of 5 on presentation of your membership card on the Wellington service.

If you intend to use the Wellington Service, head to www.wmtbc.org.nz and join the club. It only costs $15, and not only will you get extra runs for your money, you will be helping to promote Downhill MTB in Wellington :)

Even if they didn't, $2.67 a run is a fucking steal. Will be purchasing ASAP.

No discount on the 75 run passes, as I understand these have very low profit margins on them as is.

We are also working on other benefits for club members, such as free runs for helping out at dig days etc.

All will be revealed some time soon.
