Spring Crusher - New Event At Hanmer Springs

The first details of the anticipated new event for Canterbury Show Weekend at Hanmer Springs are now out...

Spring Crusher
Cross Country MTB race
Saturday 13th November 2010
Hanmer Springs
Come and ride this challenging course built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers with heaps of single track and some challenging climbs.
One Lap of single track with loadsa climb. Anticipated Winners Time 2.5hrs

This is a technical course.

All proceeds go into trail development in Hanmer Forest to ensure quality riding every time you visit Hanmer Springs.
Awesome spot prizes from top sponsors.

Singletrack galore! Plan for an awesome long weekend in Hanmer now :thumbsup:

sooo there is only one course to choose from, but you should enter the appropriate course?? :lol:

i take it there are going to be some "easier" options coming along as well.

I assume so. From what I understand the main loop is one that incorporates all the sweet Hanmer singletrack. Doesn't get sweeter than that! :love:

I am guessing the easier options will be a smaller loop. I (or someone from Hanmer) will post more when more details are released :)

If they include "Deliverance" as one of the tracks I may show some interest ;)

You do realise that out of the 6 or so bikes in my shed, not even one of them is remotely close to being set up for racing :D

Ckeck-um dates. The .doc file says 14th November. The PDF says 13th. The flier states 13th. The calendar confirms 13th :o

Cheers for that. Have corrected the date on the entryform and passed that info onto the organiser. Is definitely the Saturday (13th).

Probably will have gears at that time of the year but I don't think I'll be putting up much of a challenge

I had a chat to Graham (organiser) at the Rec Expo today and he said there is only one loop.

But he assures me that loop will be full of awesomeness goodness :thumbsup:

And good to hear sandbagger Nick is racing :p

i rode the course yesterday, definately felt the pinch coming back up to flax gully after a couple of hours.the course includes yankee zypher which has been rebuilt since being logged a few years ago.i imagine the course in full will be on the hanmerevents website in the next few days. this race is a must if you enjoy hanmers finest singletrack, oh and theres over 1100 metres of climbing :o
