2 Days to go to enter the Vulcaniser and be in to win....

Here's a list of who has entered so far...
http://www.mountainbike.orcon.net.nz/EntriesToDate.xls

If you want to go in the draw for the Barkers Gift Basket, you need to fill in your details by December 21. That's this Friday!

If you want to win one of 5 passes to the Open Day and you're in Christchurch, head down to the CCC window in Tuam Street and check out our display. Read the question then head around the corner to R&R Sport at 54 Lichfield St and answer it.

How tough is this course? Am seriously contemplating racing on the Sunday but I am a technical moron. Haven't done much singletrack riding - did the Hanmer 12 hour and McLeans 12 year this year and hoot around McLeans Island now and again but mainly ride at Ashley Forest. Head plant the last time I did the Wharfedale :( Have checked out the video and pix and all looks awesome but still not sure??? Any advise would be great :)

It may not be the easiest course for a 'technical moron'. So get lots of practice! Good excuse to go riding singletrack. :)

I would suggest you come along to the Open Day (Saturday - $10) and try it out and if you thought you'd be able to handle it racing, then come back on the Sunday and pay the difference.

The track surface isn't particularly technical but it is true single track (that is, narrow) and it is hilly

Thanks for that - looks like the Port Hills might be beckoning - not too much single track at Ashley Forest. Maybe Hanmer singletrack mmm ...... could be a plan!!

I'll think about the Saturday - might just put me off totally - once I've entered a race I won't back out but if I try it out first I might turn into a wuss!!!

I think I might do this race for a change of scenery (ie sick of the road!!). Will have to brush up on the techie skills though as it's been a while since the Spider got dirty!

you'll love it al - the kind of course where power power and more power is the key, so will suit you (wheras I expect to once again end up grovelling)
