sorry slim, I did recognise you while I was pre-riding the course. sorry for not saying hi, I was really nervious before the race

during the race was a different story, I had no idea who was yelling my name at all. I was too worried about keeping my eyes on the track so I don't crash... as well as suffering from some mean muscle cramp just generally in a world of pain and suffering. I'm really sorry to all my "fans" out there, your support really helped me not pull out after the first lap and encouraged me to go do another extra lap (after I was lapped out)... retrospectively I'm glad I went and did that extra lap despite the muscle cramp... (althou I stopped a few times and really questioned myself whether if was a wise choice)

come on slim - it's not THAT bad!!! I reckon you and Shailer should enter next year ;)

Exactly. If Danose can ride it... it aint that bad!!

I didn't even crash on the log drop! Though I did get close

Yeah id have to say that is proberly a real good specator or marshell point, i had a few stomach in my mouth experiences there. But my biggest one was on the first lap going down into the creek at the bottom of slim line, back wheel went up and trying to wipe speed of for that section with only your front wheel on the ground i thought id have to spend the rest of the race in dirty shorts.

Heh heh. I saw that- you made quite an alarmed sort of noise! :D

Mind you, big ups, I couldn't ride that track with only half a fork.. :p

yes i think i said some words that shell not be repeated but it paid of going down there at warp speed as thats where i made just enough time to get my first podium this season :D

Unless he's changed in last month....That would be a Trek hardtail under Mr Drower, the man who dominated both Coronet and Waipara, would it not?[/quote]

Nah Eric was on a Specialized S works hardtail

Specialized now? Interesting he's gone back to that. Is it a new one does anyone know? Or his old one from 06? Maybe he just ran out of frames after breaking so many last year?!

Pretty sure it was an '06 model.
Saw him pedalling toward the port hills on it again this morning.

What amazed me was that he crashed on the first lap going around the left hander by the big rock at the bottom of slimline. I was marshalling there ans saw the whole thing. Got caught up on the weird shaped tree just after the corner ie him on one side and bike (still clipped in to one pedal) on the other. Anyone see the cut on the back of his calf? I thought his race was toast after that due to speed of the competition but then ........

dude is a legend
