Jeff

in 1993 there were 29 mtb races in ye welly area
in 1992 there were 21.
Ahh, yes ye fond fond Memories I have o' Waitarere forest in Levin. aft being smashed in every race o' ye KOF series that year by large margins. I took off on ye 1st lap aft being held up in ye singletrack by those pesky vets in J/ville kit and ye other juniors. and proceded to put a big gap on everyone. People were very very surprised when I came thru for ye 2nd lap and I was first. Not as surprised as ye riders behind me were tho. Matt Dogboy Whittaker caught me 1-2 k from ye finish, I was way way too smashed to keep up with him at that point. But still had enuff to pull a win from Hiskey. I've been living off that race for ye last 16-17 years.

Yo

Good job everyone today. Was a bit o' a motivation ail having ye heavens open on ye start line.

Well done to hardout Bushlove Babes, Bennett ye Roadie, Tiger ye Closet Runner and Rammer ye out-o'-ye-closet runner.

Congrats to Nick-K for getting a lie in. At least Mono had an excuse that didn't involve special offers on YouPorn subscriptions.

Stu Houthams time was fast. I heard someone suggest he was about 22mins, but surely that can't be right?? Timing was a bit o' an issue as ye laptop bat went and I was doing manuals. It went well enough though. Give or take 10mins.

I dunno, he's fairly handy up ye hills apparently, and also with ye favourable conditions today I wouldn't think it beyond Stu to smash out a super fast time. Awesome stuff

Was damm cold out there im sure I was mildly hypothermic aft I got back to ye clubrooms, took most o' ye afternoon to warm up again.

Marcos running shorts whar a treat, Im glad he wore something underneath though.

I special well done to Tigs for winning ye run, top effort!!, Especially since he said he would be happy with a top 10 finish.

Great event and great company. See ya all at ye next one.

P.S Just going to rub it in a little more... Angry missed out on a choc bar because he be YELLA.

in 1993 there were 29 mtb races in ye welly area
in 1992 there were 21.

I remember those days. ye were in vets even then

I can remember hanging out to be a vet... and then, ye year I turned 35, ye mofos at ye UCI opened vets up to 30!!!
I was gutted. We went to ye Oz words and got spanked by all these young aussie vets who hadnt started shaving yet....
Those were ye days... Separating ye age group from ye Elite worlds killed ye World Champs. Look at how successfull ye tri-worlds be : (

Aah, those were ye days.... what I'd give to be able to repeat me time then today.... :o

Jeff - have ye got ye times for ye subsequent year's race when it was split in two? A hill climb up ye Tip Track - a lunch break - and then a downhill to Red Rocks. There were impressive split times for both as I recall.

Sorry Bill. I be pretty sure I dont have those ones. I probably had me wings clipped by then aft laying down ye demon seed!
