in 1992 there were 21.

Ahh, yes the fond fond Memories I have of Waitarere forest in Levin. After being smashed in every race of the KOF series that year by large margins. I took off on the 1st lap after being held up in the singletrack by those pesky vets in J/ville kit and the other juniors. and proceded to put a big gap on everyone. People were very very surprised when I came thru for the 2nd lap and I was first. Not as surprised as the riders behind me were tho. Matt Dogboy Whittaker caught me 1-2 k from the finish, I was way way too smashed to keep up with him at that point. But still had enuff to pull a win from Hiskey. I've been living off that race for the last 16-17 years.

Good job everyone today. Was a bit of a motivation ail having the heavens open on the start line.

Well done to hardout Bushlove Babes, Bennett the Roadie, Tiger the Closet Runner and Rammer the out-of-the-closet runner.

Congrats to Nick-K for getting a lie in. At least Mono had an excuse that didn't involve special offers on YouPorn subscriptions.

Stu Houthams time was fast. I heard someone suggest he was about 22mins, but surely that can't be right?? Timing was a bit of an issue as the laptop bat went and I was doing manuals. It went well enough though. Give or take 10mins.

I dunno, he's fairly handy up the hills apparently, and also with the favourable conditions today I wouldn't think it beyond Stu to smash out a super fast time. Awesome stuff :thumbsup:

Woot!.. Good results for BLRT!, I managed to knock off over 2 minutes on my PB, I got to the top of Todman street and realised I was still in big chainring!. Dont think I could do that agin.

Was damm cold out there im sure I was mildly hypothermic after I got back to the clubrooms, took most of the afternoon to warm up again.

Marcos running shorts where a treat, Im glad he wore something underneath though.

I special well done to Tigs for winning the run, top effort!!, Especially since he said he would be happy with a top 10 finish.

but I really was not sure how things would go and who was going to be there. Admintedly i think we were missing the top end runners today, but hey I'm not really complaining.

I remember those days. You were in vets even then

I can remember hanging out to be a vet... and then, the year I turned 35, the mofos at the UCI opened vets up to 30!!!
I was gutted. We went to the Oz words and got spanked by all these young aussie vets who hadnt started shaving yet....
Those were the days... Separating the age group from the Elite worlds killed the World Champs. Look at how successfull the tri-worlds are : (

Aah, those were the days.... what I'd give to be able to repeat my time then today....

Jeff - have you got the times for the subsequent year's race when it was split in two? A hill climb up the Tip Track - a lunch break - and then a downhill to Red Rocks. There were impressive split times for both as I recall.

Sorry Bill. I am pretty sure I dont have those ones. I probably had my wings clipped by then after laying down the demon seed!
