Will it be run on a slightly flatter course? 1 lap of the 40km was hard enough on the single speed let alone 2 or 4. Although I must say I really enjoyed the event and learnt that that area or New Zealand is anything but flat. Hacked around in 2h 50min I was knackered. Ill certainly be back next year for another go.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Thanks I should have read the thread more carefully. Just as a comparison does anybody know the total vertical climb over the 40km course?

Sounds awesome.
The course they are proposing is the very first 7.5 km loop of the Black Stump course.
Real nice long fast grass downhill, then a bit of flat and a long, gradual uphill which is the perfect gradient for a ss. Then it's just back up that road section that was the very first climb for the Black Stump race (from the start).

Would be a good blow out before the ss worlds too.
