With 28c tyres and a wide range of gears, absolutely.

Back to Mt Vic today...

I managed 7 of a scheduled 8. I guess I copped out on the 8th, but I felt weak on the 7th and thought it would do more harm than good. The 7 I did do were pretty hard ones on the other hand: Kio Bay zig zag, Zig zag from Hataitai shops + bus tunnel, Kio Bay again, Hataitai shops, left before bus tunnel, zig zag (but not our new bit of track) up ridge, Hay St, Majoribanks + steep stuff in trees, Green St path to the playground and up. Gentle warm up round the bays to start, and a short chat to Ian Gordon at Freyberg. Last summit just before the 2 hour mark.

Off to Metallica tomorrow afternoon for some ear-blasting goodness. Jump off my return flight to Wellington straight into a car bound for Vegas. Whaka 100 on Sunday, and hopefully plenty of riding the following week. I'm helper at SS worlds, so no chance of a tattoo ;) :D

My Whaka 100 outing was a struggle from go to whoa, and it seems I've done my knee some harm. I suppose I should have done more stretching since I last hurt it three years ago. I'm a bit down in the dumps about it, with so many cool events coming up. And besides, I'm in Rotovegas all week, and can't ride!

Stink. Get some rest though, my legs are still smashed in from Sunday. Is it the same knee you had problems with previously, and does it feel the same? (like in the same part of the knee, etc...?)

Hey sifter, thats a bummer. I quickly checked through the Whaka results on the weekend and saw your name, which was good. But not so good its left you sitting it out for a few days. Hope it comes right real soon

Yep knees suck, as a frequent knee sufferer its depressing when the minds able but the body doesnt want to play. :(

As a side issue for me knee problems are hugely reduced by doing regular IT band stretches with an OBI Roller.
Cycling is known to tighten up these areas causing knee tracking problems
