Hey Bikers

I just recently moved to Auckland to stay for one semester. I am seriously considering getting a bike here and join your club. I like to ride weekly, so club-rides would be nice, however I don't have a car here, so that kind of limits which rides I can participate in. Is possible to join somebody with a car from time to time, or how do you normally arrange transport to these rides?

Hi there, I am secretary for the Auckland Mountain Bike Club, check out the clubs website here http://aucklandmtb.co.nz/

Where do you live? You really need to have your own transport to get to the events that are organised. There are several activities the club runs that could be of interest to you:
1: Regular Saturday rides at 2pm at Woodhill with Mark and Kelly (meet in the Woodhill Bikeparks Carpark by the white Mitsubishi van with the clubs flags on it.) If you e mail saturdayrides@aucklandmtb.co.nz Mark and Kelly might be able to help organise a ride to Woodhill.
2: We have regular away rides...check here http://aucklandmtb.co.nz/club-rides/ ....if you contact the event organiser they can send an e mail to see if some one can help with a ride.
3: We have our Spring Race series coming up in August, September, October, November which are held at 4 different locations around Auckland region, this would give you 4 totally unique areas to ride.

I will not stay in Auckland for my entire time in NZ, need to find the good MTB places :-)

I'm pretty sure he asked a question regarding the Auckland MTB Club because he is staying in auckland for a semester and not where else to go to ride in NZ. Though i'm sure comments from wellington will be very helpful... :huh:
