A friend of mine - Vinnie Cox - decided some time ago, that he would attempt to cycle around the world, setting a new world record and raising £1 Million for leukaemia research in the process. The current record is 165 days, and he's on track to beat 150.
Vinnie has been travelling for 10 weeks now, and has already come through Europe, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, India, Thiland, Malaysia and Singapore, and is currently (as I type) between Darwin and Brisbane before heading to Christchurch.
Please have a look at his various websites, including a "live" GPS tracker as well as some pretty funny blog posts.

Vinnie is currently planning on being here on or around 15th May, when he will cycle from Christchurch to Auckland before going onto South America, and I'm sure he would absolutely love to have some company on the way.
So if you fancy a challenge (however big or small) and would like to cycle alongside and maybe get inspired yourselves, keep an eye on his updates and find out when he's getting here.
