Well said Robbie. I wouldn't have gone looking for this in any of the other threads but I was keen to see it built up.

If Vorb really operated on the 'no new threads if there's already an appropriate thread' policy there wouldn't be many threads - most of it would belong in the postwhore threads...

How is starting a new thread for a bike any worse than starting half a dozen for the sake of having a funny title that is similar to something someone else started, which seems to have been happening a lot lately. At least it was a thread about a bike.

What kind of moron would start pointless threads just because their titles resemble existing ones? :paranoid:

I wasn't having a dig Oli - if I think they're funny I have a bit of a giggle, if not I just ignore them (usually I have a giggle - specially when you and Musket start going at each other). I was just saying there's really no difference so why did this thread get such a hard time? It's all entertainment right? And if you don't like the show on the TV you don't sit there an abuse it do you? Well, maybe these guys do...

Seconded.

I can't help but think that if any other user had posted the same bike the backlash may have been non-existant...

:pmob: Anyone that starts each post with "hello thrillseekers" and constantly posts in bold font is always going to get a hard time.

Nice to see you got it built up at last robbie, enjoy.

really i can think of a number of times that someone has started a thread about there new bike and has been told that it should have been posted in the post your ride thread and then made fun off.

This is also a good point. These threads have been wrangled into PYR even...

stop fence sitting :hmmm:

and if we are to continue the "don't start dedicated threads" theme.. i think dedicated threads about someone riding their bikes should be all put into where did you ride today, afterall what makes them so important :eh: :D

last time i checked, robbie posting up a dedicated thread did not result in a country getting invaded. so in the scheme of things i think people just need to chill out and give him a break.

Heck, when I got my 5-spot and had it all built up I was super stoked... but I posted it in PYR exactly so I would not get hassled to go post it in PYR.

Bollocks, there are tonnes of threads that are quietly locked and slip away when there are suitable threads already exists. This thread is the anomaly.
