Hey roadies,

Any reccomendations for road shoes for a wider foot? I know Specialised are good, but I'd like to consider other options. Chur.

For myself – I’ve not ridden for about 2 weeks. My work has kicked in again and, basically, apart from keeping fit, there is nothing here to train for (going out for a ride just ‘cause is nice of course).
Hopefully I can motivate myself for Saturday and Sunday AM rides at least….

I haven't ridden in a week. Due to having to ride my bike to and from work most days since July, last week I cracked. So have taken a rest week now that my car's back on the road.

But as I'd said in another thread, tomorrow I should be out for 120-140 on the CX bike tomorrow.

Only managed a flat 40km ave 32km. I'm still trying to shake a cold before Martinborough tomorrow. Any efforts just sapped my energy. :( Might have to look at only doing 48km tomorrow depending on how I feel. Have to get rid of this f*%ken cold before Taupo.

Nice steady ride in the sun yesterday afternoon. :) Paekak Hill-Haywards-Wally Hill, down Mangaroa hill, up Moonshine then back up Paekak hill. Sooo nice to get out without arm or leg warmers

Went for a blast with the Vets this morning, not quite the normal nice steady ride due to a couple of dudes who thought we were racing at every stage and blew the bunch apart on more than 1 occassion. Don't think they will be riding with us for much longer!!!

Yup you go up there, across the top and drop down into the valley, hang a left continue on down the road a bit and you come to a place called Nikau Views. She's a serious hill climb to the top but once you're there the views are outstanding.

Since people complain that I get out too much, thought I should add in that I'm just back from another 60km's this morning. :) Went north to Pekapeka, around the Te Horo loop, and some other loop road just north of that, crossed SH1 and on to Otaki Forks road, back down Hautere Cross road to SH1, then followed that back to Param. Decent headwind making me work heading north, was glorious heading south maintaining over 40 for about 20 minutes! (without pushing it) All up my avg was 28.5 which is OK for me.

With Mojo to burn after K2 , needed some Revive before I hit the screaming turtle as I build to my next priority the Rice Mt Classic. So test rode a course I designed to duplicating Rice Mt round the bays of Welly.

Lots of friendly people out riding this morning.

Thanks. Don't suppose you know how they go for sizing eh? I'm normally a 45 but often cycling shoes have been on the small size.

lol....nope. She's lovin' it. Kinda likes having a less fat, healthy sort of husband around, besides her and the girls are away this weekend, cause I was going to be out riding. :) See you at some less ungodly hour of the morning than I have to get up at. I'll leave home about 6, so should be there about 6.45.
