I rode from just North of Seven Sisters tube station to Lewisham - including a long section of canal and the Greenwich tunnel under the Thames.

Over my cold but knees are still sore but forced myself out for a gentle ride to Sumner. Perfect day for riding in Christchurch. Wind got up just towards the end. Going slow as though 26kph. Caught up with John Mullen and got grief for...

-Wearing Helmet
-Using iPod
-Having Powertap
-Having carbon frame
-Hand position on bars
-Shifting from Henekin to Corona
-Coaching women

he forgot :

having anything smaller than 42 as your small ring
having anything larger than 21 as your biggest cog
having more than 7 gears
having non-downtube shifters
not running tubulars
having a frame not made out of steel by an ancient italian dude

John Mullen sounds like someone slackboy and myself could get on well with :satan:

Except for the non-helmet thing - I don't think Slacky would approve. Oh, and he would be making slanderous and offensive anti-roadie calls even if he was on a road bike. ;)

You obviously know him. Cause apart from "we live in a Police state" and "not wearing seatbelts" that is John down to a T.

That and U2 is the greatest rock band in the world and you not a real fan unless you have seen then at least 10 times in concert and at least once in the eighties, nineties and the new millennium!

hmmm - was all sounding good up to then, everything after Boy is rubbish

I must be a wuss - even if they made helmets voluntary I'd wear one now, last time I rode without one it felt wrong and odd.

:hmmm: Soft! :hmmm: Wasn't that windy, I was sanding paint outside all arvo and only had to stop my wig blowing off twice! :p

Dude I dont know what party of the country you live in but in Wellington along Shelly bay it was easily some of the strongest winds I have ever tried to ride in (not counting the mental stuff you get up Kaukau)

Ah Ha! I thought all roadies came from Christchurch  'Round the Bays' sorta sounds like 'Short Bays' in which case I thought you were from Chur Chur. My apologies. Anyhoos - that'll teach you for living in Wellywood!

Well - I did the Dyers Round-a-bout to Gibraltar rock - return TT last night. Hey Danose - beat my PB too!! Splits as follows:

Dyers to Kiwi: 17m 5secs
Gibraltar Rock 36m 20secs
SOK 51m (approx)
Dyers Round-a-bout - 57m 10 secs.

Windy as f#@k on the tops though.

I was under strict orders from the wife to be back in under an hour as we were going out for dinner, and fear of a beating drove me to my best time

Well this morning I headed out for a cruisy ride around Spencerville/North Beach, was a good ride but it seemed really windy although the trees were hardly moving.... maybe I was just tired hehe :) 42km ride so was OK I guess
