Road up to and along Summit road. Pretty cool to see snow on the mountains from up there.

Not all road riding, plans changed when I noticed a big bulge in my rear tyre with fabric poking out just as I was about to leave on the road bike. Must have happened during the week.
Took the cyclecross bike for a 70km mix of sealed road, shingle road walking tracks around the Hutt Valley, Tunnel Gully- Rimutaka and home.
I love my cyclocross bike, I think a big part of the fun is the incredulous looks I get riding what looks like a road bike to the casual observer.
The wind was a bit challenging today.

First day back at work, first commute of the year. 70km on the TT bike, but I kind of ran out of steam near the end, wasn't expecting the southerly so early this morning, but then I didn't think I'd been working that hard up to that point! Still, beautiful morning after the seriously windy weekend!

Spent the weekend riding in the Hawkes Bay, nice change of scenery, good bunch of blokes out destroying themselves and anyone who managed to tag along for the ride.

Friday night was just a short ride of 6 km, Saturday was a longer ride of 66km in the morning and a ride around a packing shed for 40 minutes in the afternoon. Sunday was 99 km ride with and we finished on top of a hill.

The weather was great, 27 degrees a bit of wind though. I had a couple of nice jeresys to wear, one was yellow, one was green but they made me give them back.

If you guys have nothing to do next weekend (21st) come to Gisborne, we have a nice 204 km ride we are going to do through some great East Coast countryside.

Rode up to Apiti this morning, opposite direction to the tour riders.
Caught them just after Apiti, missed the lead riders by 1min back at the finish. Damn wind.

First time for a while, up the sharp side of Akas and through the valley down to Wellie. Forgotten how much fun Akatawara Road is heading east! Once you are off the initial twisty descent the road is pretty free flowing and super fun.

70 minutes before I saw a car.

SE wind was really light so no issue on SH2 and didn't notice the earthquake.

I surprised myself yesterday. It was only 15.5k and flat, but lots of corners and in the middle of a tri, but I averaged 35.3kph which is excellent for me, and I was holding back being very wary of the 5k run I still had to go. Yup, Yesterday I turned to the dark side and it feels good (apart from my back).

looks like you are clocking up the miles before ultimate Tim.

I rode out to the Ruapuna race, then to gebbies, up the bastard and back home last night. Fantastic full moon which made for a nice ride over the hills. Only 135k though. Need a big one this weekend.

Yeah, put some comfy compact bars on and have ditched the hammer perpetuem in favor of junk food. Seemed to work ok today. mmmm snickers bars. Lingering cold slowed me down a little. I've got a 3 or 4 day tour lined up in a few weeks which should knock me into shape.

240KM for me yesterday. Solo from home to Gebbies, teddington, Governors to the Kiwi, round to prebbleton, and around the airport to home for some supplies, then met up with the Velocity team boys for a ride out to loburn, and oxford way. Was not expecting the hammerfest it turned into so sat on the back mostly , then bonked at the end a bit. Trying Perpeutem for the first time, so may need to increase my mixture. Nice day though after a cold start. :)
