That man deserves a pie.

Yes I did . . . . All of them . . . . . . . .

I can't wait to get my arse over to Europe and ride some of these classic hills...

It should be done at least once in your life.

Just spent 5 weeks (July & August) in France, Spain & Switzerland. Climbing in the Pyrenees, Alps and Picos . . . . .

The Tourmalet 4 times in 4 days, Aubisque, Solour, Marie Blanc, Porte, Alpe d'Huez and many many more . . . .

All on the racing bike.

Yeah me next year hopefully - can't wait....dispensation from the missus to stay on in europe after our mini OE to do riding :) I'll have about two weeks but limited funds - Tourmalet is at the top of my list. Mite just do a tour or something - less fuss when its organised for you and your on your own!

Epic ride man

Here is a little climb! Go wild on that! every day, multiple times a day you can climb these beauties . . . . and the down hill afterwards!

A good ride today :)
I missed the fast bunch by a few minutes so became the fastest of the not so fast bunch.
Most people are getting faster for Taupo and I’m getting….umm…
It gave me and my SingleSpeed a decent workout and home before the rain :)

Robbie Risdon organised a ride to Hilltop and we had a mix of junior guns and some older fuller figured riders. Caned out to Little River with a good tailwind and we let the fitter ones scale Hilltop (kudos to Ben Wortelboer winning the prime) while we enjoyed coffee's in the sun before battling into the head and cross winds all the way home. Old Tai Tapu Road is still seriously earthquake damaged but repairs have made the Downs rideable again. 110km and 3hr44min and I am pretty broken.

Partway into Akatarawas then back over Wallaceville/Bluemountains - nice warm day in WLG! Spring has sprung = lots of wildlife out and about, nearly ran over a stoat!

How is the "step" over the Halswell river Bridge on SH75 at Tai Tapu?
How are the cracks on the bridge at Little River?

We didn't go that way.

How are the cracks on the bridge at Little River?

Is that past the township? In which case the lure of a coffee and bagel seduced me more than sussing out the course for next week.

Good news is our Pegasus juniors are in good form for the upcoming Tour de Taeri in Dunedin. Little f**kers beat me up pretty good.

Fat (no pun intended) lot of use sending out club scouts to check for road damage when they peel off for coffee just because a little hill gets in the way!!!! The bridge in question was about 200m past the coffee shop at the A&P Showgrounds (one of Le Race changeover stations)

Better ask Robbie then as he went up Hilltop till the kids caught him coming back down. Judging by the state I'm in now that extra 400m may have just been the tipping point for a very bad day at the office.

set out to do 200k....5 1/2 hours in front wheel went ping and spokes went flying. battled on to mums in Levin and waited for SWMBO to arrive and give me a lift home....so about 60k short of the target and another dead wheel.

That's still a pretty solid ride

I went up Saddle Rd. Was going to come back over the Paihiatua Track but it was starting to get windy and rainy so I went with the gorge instead.

My ride today took in the wide wheels, and the heavy clunker, as I took the kids out for a ride around the Waikanae river path. the girls loved it, and found every possible puddle. :) Good to do something different for a change. Looking forward to a real ride tomorrow.

Derrick - Tai Tap bridge is ok, the council has put a little ashphalt down to smooth the gap. They've done that to the first bridge just out of Halswell too.

Easy 85 km this morning, 3 hours, dodged the rain . . . . . . . all done by 9.30 am. Out on the Poverty Bay Flats . . . .
