Make sure you have the law take every step it can. I had another close call this morning, stopped on side of the road with my wife and daughter and a car brushed by at 100km/hr. My shirt felt as if it would rip, no visible damage.

Christchurch is such a nice place, it's a pity about the number of psychopathic assholes and especially bad drivers who live there. Honestly, I've lived in quite a few places and chch stands out for having a disproportionate number of generally poor drivers, it's bizarre and so unnecessary.

I'm glad you're OK Rik. I hope the cops throw the book at the stupid cunzor. Though I suspect a slap with a wet bus ticket will be the outcome.

The big problem with Chch - psychotic, religio/sexo-murderers and white supremacist nazis aside - is that to get most places, most of the time, drivers only have to turn in a handful of places.
When they actually have to "drive" like up Dyers (ie turn actual corners), they get really confused.
I lived in Chch 20-25 years ago and had more close calls riding my Healing 10-speed mtb around than just about anywhere else I've lived.
Still a nice place to live - esp. Sumner, Lyttleton and Peninsula - in spite of prsm & wsn!

yeah, my mum had a cousin, chch born and bred, who actually couldnt drive on hills... mad! she'd always get mum to drive her up to visit my grandma.

Its called the Fon winds ( I think that's the spelling) and I know myself when we get that warm nor-wester up here it does my head in something chronic.....I start shouting at the the f**king chickens and cattle! And I try to run the sheep off the race when I'm on the tractor....I can't help it, they walk up the race 3 or 4 abreast holding me up, and even when I rev the engine and beep the horn the buggers just won't pull over for me! I swear some day I'm going to nail the Bastards in my Massey Ferguson and put them into the paddock!
