Meh, either ride fast enough to pass the car or turn off down Hackthorne instead. Tapping mirrors is asking for trouble if you can't back it up with your fists.

Well duh, thats evolution in action. Fight or Flight. thats what adrenaline is for.

Get it on!

I for one am going to ride through red lights, randomly attack cars, wear armoured gloves, and generally ride like I am nine feet tall, bullet proof and am driving a centurion tank.

Right is on my side, I cannot lose! Praise Jeebus.

Sorry to hear about your incident Rob when I first saw the thread on Thurs am I presumed it was a different Rob since I had seen you only Wed night out riding, but the race must have got you addicted eh :)
THe guy isn't speaking out very well I don't reckon the way he said that ""He had to knock on the window and didn't know how to stop pushing my buttons." , when it sounds like you were just letting them know that it was inconsiderate of them. Why shouldn't he knock on the window, I do it all the time for things like people stopped in cycle lanes just to kindly let them know that it is infact illegal now.

I've had a read through some comments on stuff too, some of the negatives I agree with like the pair who rode two abreast and had a big line of cars waiting and when given a friendly toot about cars waiting gave some gestures, yes we are allowed to ride two abreast but this right should not be abused!

And then this comment:
Spinsby said she deliberately waited for an open, clear piece of road before passing Unthank and then travelled down the hill faster than normal to avoid being in his path.
Why on earth did they pass anyway if they knew they had to drive at a speed faster than usual to keep ahead of him? This guy just doesn't make sense!

Hope this doesn't put you or anyone else off riding on our roads!
I like to think because i'm female I have less of a chance of people abusing me and getting angry and aggressive, but instead we get the "nice bum" calls out windows by yucky trucky drivers etc.

:D

rik - you need to learn to spin that 11t out - not many motorists are brave/stupid enough to attempt overtaking at 70kph

and remember - the white dotted line down the middle of the road is an officially designated passing lane for bikes :satan:

Gillespie-Wild said he felt terrible about what happened, but said Unthank "should have let it go".
"He had to knock on the window and didn't know how to stop pushing my buttons."

 I say take that a-hole to the cleaners if at all possible...prosecute, prosecute, prosecute...
