Riding Able Tasman National Park -read This

Postby bbuckland on Tue 15/Sep/09 9:19pm

I had a meeting with the DOC area manager and it appears a few riders are doing illicit rides on Able Tasman track from Marahau (even during daylight hours!! ) This a no no and does not help the cause of MTB riders at all. DOC have had enough and they now intend to prosecute offenders and are actively keeping a look out.
Some "off season" riding is available at Totaranui end of the Park, (check the doc website for the trails available there.) NO RIDING is allowed at the Marahau end of the track so keep out. > >> YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

They must be tourists. Everyone else knows the good riding is in other areas of the park :)

Not to be confused with Abel Tasman NP.
