Results Manawatu Xc Mtb Series

So far the best conditions for racing, the 3rd race of the series had plenty of excitement and good racing.

Two of our ttop junior development riders, Josh and Mathew, are proving very hard to beat, notching up another 1st & 2nd for the series in the Open Long Course. Josh had the upperhand of 2 seconds finishing in 1hr 20mins, 18secs. Apparently there was no holding back as they raced each other over the finish line.

The Short course was also dominated by another up-and-coming junior rider, finishing with a speedy 54mins. The sole representative of under 15 girls, finished in 1hour 22mins.

In the womens division we had 13 riders taking part, but there is certainly room for more to step up to the challenge, especially in the 28km long course where mum and daughter duo battled it out for a couple of hours.

Vet men also put the pressure on the younger ones, with some of our elders showing what you can achieve if you keep up the riding. Short course 55mins, long course 1hr 37mins by one of our Wanaganui supporters.(I want some of what they take!).

Even younger are our mites (under 13), blasting around the shorter course taking 15-20mins per lap.

There was a good contingent from Wanganui supporting our race. For those interesting in reciprocating for their club they have a race on the 5th Sept. Details on their website.

In all it was another great, race with lots of happy faces at the end getting stuck into the free drink and chocolate fish after a great afternoon blasting around the superb trails at Santoft.

Hope to see you all again at the next race on the 23rd August, same place, same time.

Results attached for your interest.
