BOOM - tax cut gone, motherfucker*!!! But not to worry - they'll privatise ACC soon enough so that you can spent even more of your "tax cut" on even worse accident insurance coverage.

*Ok, probably not totally gone... But $141 is a pretty hefty chunk of cash your dumbarse voting has cost you.

Charging more for coverage is the first step to privatisation. Once people are paying more and it starts hurting them in the pocket they'll begin to warm to the idea of National privatising accident compensation to "bring down prices" ... It'll be just like how privatising Telecon and deregulating the telecommunications market lead to NZ having such verrrry cheap and very good telecommunications service and infrastructure :P

Better idea - how about some ridiculous and unnecessary legislation that'll make it even harder for this vunerable part of society to get and keep a job? If they're unemployed and we privatise ACC so that they can't afford it then hopefully the poor people will just quietly "go away"!

First off, get rid of the bludger students. If they cant afford it, go get a job.

Ive seen how private insurance works, worked for a company that opted out of ACC. It works well, people that are genuine get help. Those that just want time off dont.

I did investigations for them, amazing what we found.....

True. NOTHING works better than choosing the lowest bidder. Especially when it comes to things like your employees workplace health and safety.

I seem to recall that Max Bradford say the the price of electricity will drop significantly once it is deregulated. The opposite happened
