Agree that don't want any more mess into it. It wasn't great anyway but definitely want it back to at least as good as it was. I used to kayak Avon weekday evenings as it was the only safe place could train during darkness. We have alternatives of Pegasus, Waimak & Kaiapoi but there's no where with enough street lighting. Ideal would be to take the opportunity the disaster has created, wipe out a few munted houses near Kerrs Reach, straighthen the river a little and gain a world class kayak & rowing course.
