So, should one brazen it out in hard hat and hi-vis vest, or skulk through in camo gear?

23.12.2011 at 7.50am. All tracks not affected by rock fall hazard are open. Rapaki track opens today, the closed signage will be taken down this morning, and some new entrance signs put up. Enjoy riding. Nick Singleton.

that was much quicker than expected!

Dunno - new signage says "rockfall danger exists at all time" and advises people to go elsewhere if that worries them ( which is unbeleivably sensible ). Sadly I was 30 mins early going up it today so can't report first hand what it was like - only heard it up flying nun

I did opt to not burgle the bowenvale exit on the way out though - if anything was going to move it'd be there.

was deserted up there today - didn't see any other mtbers all day (just a few roadies) - think everyone was boozing/shopping (have to say I'd much rather be up the hills than in the mall during a quake)
