Question About Car Rego And Crashs

Postby Biker4Life on Wed 25/Nov/09 6:11pm

So to settle an argument between me and a mate, short of going and getting in a crash.

If your car has no rego and you get in a crash and are in the right is it your fault. Like when you have a crash with no wof its your fault??

Get me?

Help me please. . . . .

Cheers.

As far as I am aware;

If you have a crash and its your fault, its your fault, if you have a crash and its not your fault its not your fault

if you don't have a WOF, this doesn't change, it would only change the situation, IF your car wasn't to a warrantable standard, and that defect aided / caused the crash (ie no WOF cause of bald tyres and that was what caused the crash)

if you have no reg and the crash isn't your your fault (ie some one failed to give way to you) then you will be fine

THAT SAID

if you have an accident with out a WOF or REG, if its at all marginal, YOU will get the blame, and you risk a $200 fine for each occurance AND you risk your insurance company declining a claim

so what pushbikerider is trying to say in smart man's terms is:

you and your associate are onerously disputing the allocation of fault, but you have given the afore mentioned word a double entendre of Fault AND Liability. So what may be moar pertinent to dispute with your associate is the question of Liability, because in reality, Fault doesn't cost you money...Liability does. :D

What I meant was .... You obviously only post logical and intelligent and perhaps not smutty comments, of the posts I have read. Nothing that would warrant a stare.
That was very bad wording on my part. I apologise. Thanks for the laugh.
