Another great week-end. Good trails, good peoples, good times.

Thanks for making it all so easy Tama.

leg armour on QCW - what the?

ask Colin...

Saturday, day four of six days riding for me and looking like being my first "all the blood on the inside" day....

... until unloading the bikes off the watertaxi back a Furneaux.

I had a "Mr Shin, meet Mr Flat Pedal with Flesh Eating Spikes" moment. And said bad words. :(

Sunday was my only all the blood on the inside day.

I've done put my photos up. :)
Thanks to Tama for organising, and all my riding buddies for the weekend, especially my fellow sifties, my sister Brenda for coming down from Auckland for the trip, and my friends Rach, Liam, Fiona, Sharleen and Paula. It was great to meet you Anna, get to know you Heather and Anneka, and generally cruise around on a bike in the sun. :) Special thanks to those who convinced me that Furneaux to Punga on Sunday was worth it... it was.

Thanks also to the weathergods for behaving for the weekend. :)

I had a great weekend. Thanks again Tama, for the work you do to put this thing together. Awesome.

Really enjoyed the ride, trails were in really good nick. The flowing down into Furneaux I particularly enjoyed, also the stuff down into Punga, the switchbacks after Portage, the 5km downrun to Anakiwa, actually it was all bloody good. What am I saying.

Have to do that again one day, would also be keen to plan on doing it in a day

Err, it's under 100km including the ride back to picton... I will have to wait until after Karapoti, but if you're at ships cove by 8am you will be back in picton by 6pm for the ferry home. Part of the reason I rode a little extra on the second day was to see what kind of time/pain to expect on a single day ride.

:pmob: Easily doable in a day, rode from the lodge to picton last year, bit broken though, and the first bit isnt very long.

I reckon I could do it in one day and I'm old and slow.

I suspect I'd be somewhat broken at the end though.

I comfortably rode from Furneaux to Anakiwa...

... and figure that adding the bit from Ships Cove to Furneaux earlier in the day would leave fresher than my four previous riding days had on Sunday.

I would be booking a backpackers at Anakiwa (or Picton) so it wouldn't matter if I finished at 6:30 or 7:30 or 8:30.
