Well what a huge weekend!

Yep, it is a long way, but fantastic scenery :)
I do wonder why the trail builders decided to run the trail to the top of every single peak, most odd.

By far the longest ride I had ever done, so I (slow) paced myself and there were no problems.

The Big Climb was very impressive, especially in that heat, and then it was switchback city.

Colin is correct in saying that the last DH run home is a fantastic ride- a great way to arrive at the end.

The 16Km sign was a wonderful thing, "almost there" LOL !!!

An awesome weekend - thanks so much for organising it Tama!!

And thanks heaps to Tama, Jim & Tryfan who played tailend charlies for our sifty group at the back

It was a damn good social ride in beautiful scenery, lovely track and with fantastic company :) And we timed it perfectly, getting back with half an hour to spare before the water taxi!

(And stoked with our wee girly group who rode together lots - DirtDiva, Jo & Heather - you guys made a great ride even better!!)

What an awesome ride and a great weekend!

Aside from the riding it was great to meet everyone and get to put some faces to names.

I've put my photos online here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/eddthedrummer/sets/72157603292320980/) and now I'm off to continue re-hydrating... :p

Cheers

Amazing weekend!!
I  this ride.
My Fxr miraculously survived in one piece, though it probably has a few hundred micro fractures waiting to happen the next time I go huck off a kerb :p
=} Thanks for organising it again Tama
Great to meet a lot of you too
I have 100 or so photos to sort through too.
