have heard that the accomodation at Punga is far less appealing than ferneaux
Last year most of the people had arrived at Fernaux by lunchtime
Mmmm..., Big burgers!
Then you had the option of riding on to Punga, and catching the ferry back from Punga to Fernaux in the late afternoon and stopping for a beer in Punga.
Also, the next morning you could ride out of Fernaux and ride to Punga (And keep riding for the rest of the day), Or you could catch the ferry and start riding from Punga instead.

I've narrowed it down to 3....
The Fly is a tank and overkill
The single speed is stupidity personified (I want to enjoy the ride)
So it'll either be the Fxr (with the lightweight wheelset swapped off the Fxc).
Or it'll be the Fxc (Shorter travel full sus than the Fxr)
Or the Slacker (which will be a tank to ride up hill)!

Nah, take it easy for another 5 weeks. You definitely dont want to over-train.

i was told by some people that have done this ride a few times, to get bed matress bags. From the bed shops. They are big plastic bags to put your bike in for when on the boat because apparernently the water spray is quiet bad. I just concerned about where to put this bag when you're riding as it would take up alot of room. Does anyone do/recommend this ??

On a side note, does anyone know what the weather has been like in QC for the last few days. Thinking about heading over there for the weekend.

none of us have ever done this (well on the 3 QCW's I have done with Vorb), would never even have thought about it, if your concerned about it you could always hose your bike down when you get to the lodge

yeah, it's only exposed to the salt spray for about 40 minutes on the way out, and I didn't notice any ill-effects on any cycles on unloading... take an extra water bottle to give it a squirt down if it makes you feel better though :D

5 weeks. :0
