Pram Track, Dopers And Others - Sunday 18 Feb

Postby Colin on Wed 14/Feb/07 2:31pm

I figured I would go ride up Karapoti Gorge, up the Pram Track, down Dopers and then turn round and climb back up Dopers.

Pick up the wee bit of single track on the way back down the Pram track.

Sounds like I may be talked into extending - climbing Big Ring Boulevard and picking up the single track off Titi back to the bottom of Dopers.

Forecast is looking settled. Single track is apparently nice and dry.

Top bridge (the one being built) 10:00 am Sunday.

========================================
Lets meet at the end of the tarseal at the defunct bridge up the Karapoti Gorge this Sunday.
We will start riding at 9am & do the full course.
We will split into groups of varying speed, if that suits.
The Police are running a search & rescue exercise near Karapoti this weekend, so you may see helicopters overhead
.

We'd better stay left then :)

Mind you, the top car park was a bit full at 11am when I came out last weekend, may be better to start from the bottom bridge.

I'm there. I'll drag my father-in-law out for his first jungle taste too.
I'll be extending up big ring and down the Titi track for sure.

The rear hub and the cranks are a bit sad.

I might have to drag the old HT out.

I'm not sure it will be such a good idea riding up big ring about lunchtime as there will probably be quite a few fanging down about that time.

Yeer, sometimes I think it's not a good idea,

but then as was raised at lunch the other day we all (our group and those coming down) should be riding not knowing if there is a 4wd/motorbike/mtb/tramper around the corner.

As long as we don't spread across the road like farmer Brown's cows I think we should be OK. Big Ring Boulevard is pretty wide.
