My Shimano Deore hose is kinked.
They seem to be a weird arrangement with that more than right angle banjo fitting and I'm guessing that might be why it kinked?

Can you fit other types of hose that come straight out like most other brakes or does that type have to be it?

That lever type doesn't even come stock with your banjo arrangement.
Have at it.

Nope, look carefully at the lever again. They are not the same lever. I do remember there being some deore brakes with 90 degree fittings at the lever like that (much like the older 4pot xts) but I have nfi which gen it was. I'm not even sure what thread they are interms of swapping out to straight hoses.

it's a 555 deore (different lever/caliper and pads)

banjo at both ends (total PITA :hmmm: plus IS calipers...)
there's a reason they ditched it and went to the 525/535 dealies

wobs, that XT caliper i gave you had one of those levers fitted with an A2Z 6mm hose with an M6 direct fitting at the lever end.
535 levers have an M8x1 fitting
new line is probably your only fix nostromo, shimano used to do a standalone banjo you could buy aftermarket for custom lines but a look through the former and current shimano distirbutors webstores show none listed anymore

So I have to stick with a line with a Banjo fitting?
The Brake lever says BL-M555 and the brake hose says SM-BH53.

The caliper seems to be newer and uses an inline fitting at that end.

enthusiasts Thank You Very Much ;)

that caliper is a 535, so you will be able to get a line for any of the modern shimano brakes SLX up
this is the one you want, it says for zee but they work all the same.

if you want it in a hurry, your LBS 'should' have them

Re: Bike Mechanics Impart Their Wisdom On Vorb

so headset questions

bike is a zs56 top and bottom (2014 mondraker summum) the existing cups are tight which results in tight bearings etc. fork steerer is conventional 1 1/8 going on. Existing headset has a oversized collet jobby to take up the room (36degree) and the obligatory bottom crown race of a similar design.

I'm contemplating replacing the whole headset after a reaming to hopefully fix the tightness at some point (assuming I can find someone with a 56mm reamer setup).

As far as I can find only one place (some german blokes for like 80 pounds) make a ZS56/28.6 top assembly, ZS56/30 for the bottom is easy peasy

I've figured out if I grab a pair of zs56/30 bottom cups from canecreek who use the 36 degree bearings I could them use one of the bottom cups in the top and combine it with the old headsets collet and top cover and it would be apples

other option is a reach extend headset from works (I dont need the front end any longer..)

am I missing something really dumb here?

Booto, I asploded my hope pro 2 evo. How much for all bearings replaced? Will you judge me if I bring in some better ones? Able to get the inner freehub bearing out if it doesn't have an inner race anymore?

Feel free to pm. Prob should have but too lazy.
