How does it pedal better than a hardtail though?

possibly cos the way he had the DMR set up compared to the hecklar makes quite a difference. If the wheels are lighter, and the cockpit much more roomier, it's going to go a truck load faster

signed on as briii, but it is i teh shmooo. same build as the dmr, weighs the same but feels like it accelerates mush harder, certainly climbs betterer too, weather its a placebo affect or not i do not know

Sorry, I don't have an intimate knowledge of his exact bike setup. I just hadn't heard of a 6" single pivot frame pedalling better than a hardtail before, that's all.

Hecklers are single pivot (Great bikes too IMO. Loved mine)

chain tourqe is when the rear shock stiffens up when pedalling. i.e. the shock motion and drivetrain forces are not independent of each other.
