Can't say I'm 100% happy with it as it's not at all longer than the Slacker but it is much lower.

Yeah, you don't see saddles slammed back like that anymore. What's the reach?

I bet it's low, isn't it designed for sixfiddy beez? Coulda just put some 24s in the slacker ;)

Looks good.

Nah it's a 26" frame.
395mm reach for this small and 415 for a medium.
Spitty's 409mm.
Can try 10mm longer stem.

Wonder if the guy still has any frames left.

Wow, tiny.
Thinking of swapping to the med? (do eet)

How long is the current stem?

Don't tell Dougal. Though to be fair I've not given Hayes newest offerings a decent thrash. And never had an issue with my original Mags. But my SLXs have been tremendous.

None of the 26" in stock.
Not sure if I want to spend any more to get a 650b one.
Current stem is a 50mm.

le sigh.

Modern geometries do my head in, it's like the old days of NORBA-approved geometries and whatnot...

First ride went well actually.
That low bb made for ripping the trails at Halswell Quarry.
Climbs are steep enough for me to really push but didn't feel cramped.
Didn't feel nervous or anything coming down the steeper stuff either.

Nice one - glad it was just a pre-emptive case of buyers remorse!

Yeah built it up yesterday and went "hmmmm it's pretty short..."
I think the paintjob and proportions make it look funny.
Measured it up against the Spitfire and it's within 15mm from back of seat to middle of the bars.
Might try the 60mm stem to see how it goes.

Compared it to Wobbler's Slacker and it's about 30mm shorter.
But that's with a 15mm longer stem and seat much higher in a slacker* seat-tube.
It's not as slack in the head angle though

Not sure I'll take it down Vic Park as hard as the other bikes though.

Gotta leave the seat and stem out of those measurements, how do they compare in reach?

I already told you.
Spitfire has the same seat.

Chur. Yeah I've ridden so many longer bikes recently that the nomad was just hell to go back to, even though the reach was fairly long 3 years ago. Long reach just feels so perfectly natural that anything else feels like you're contorting into a dumb shape just to maintain good weight distribution and not be spat out the front door, and the predictability is so superior that I feel like a goddamn superhero everytime i go around a loose corner.
