So I'll ask my repetitive question... What's the reach on that version? (the new ones are super long, is it a 2018?)

Nah, it's a first gen one, non metric shock etc. 457mm reach, and at 5'11" I want it longer. I am really interested in trying the new ones, they have some interesting ideas and I'm open minded because every time I ride a longer bike everything else seems too short. I'm on a large trek slash at the moment with 460 reach and a 65ish head angle with 29" wheels. The angle that I can brace myself against the bars when dealing with chop without feeling like I'm heading over the front is impressive, a lot to do with the higher front axle and that the attacking face of the bigger wheel is further out in front of it. To do the same thing with 650b needs more reach and a slacker head angle, and I'd like to play with the extreme numbers of the new transitions to see if they've made it work. With the 29" the instability over huge bumps is noticeable due to the bigger offset on the fork plus the bigger wheel making the contact patch too far in front of the steering axis, you need wider bars and a bit more strength to hold the bars straight when it gets really rough. Somewhat in contrast to small and medium sized bumps where the 29er is smoother and easier to handle. I'd like to see if the same benefits can be gained with smaller wheels.

I'm interested in the longer reach / shorter offset transition is pushing too.
My spitfire is the longest bike I've ridden (that is set up for me) and I've tried it with 40 & 44mm offset forks - same travel and a-c.
The shorter one is much less twitchy. One of these days I'll get on something with a 10mm+ longer front center and find out what I'm missing.

445mm stock. Effectively shorter since it's over forked.

How do you find the cable routing on the transition?

The seat might be too high for effective skids

They're referring to how I spent a little while trying to bleed my reverb lever, with zero result.

...Figured out the problem when I pulled the brake lever and my seat went up
