It sure is. Rode it to Waitarere from Welli on Friday on a mix of road, gravel and sand. Handled it all beautifully. Except for that bloody wind. grrrr.
Frame is a 1994/5 avanti. From memory a cx 100. I destickered it a while ago.
Vaguely interesting thing about it - it's the same year & colour(Dark metallic green) of my 1st ever proper mountain bike, an avanti ridge-rider. This seems to be identical except for it was built for 700c.

Cheap and nasty wire bead bontrager 29x2.0 somethings(skinny 2.0s).
I got them from R&R for $20. They were original spec on a bike and somebody didnt want them.
Perfect for this setup though.

I lusted after a Ridge Rider in that era. The way the seat stays were joined in a U behind the seat tube really spun my wheels for some reason.
