Are V-brakes enough when loaded + hill? Cargo bikes seem ideal candidates for grunty brakes.

Hi Yes, V-Brakes are up to it if set up right, with good brake pads :o

I live at the top of a steep hill and take my loaded Dummy down to Market all OK, I'm over disc brakes because I have had to fix them on Motorcycles for the last 30 years. Most people have had a bad time with Rim Brakes because of poor set up :hmmm: after all a Rim is a Big Disc brake

So you go set up some sort of market stall with a bike?

That's badass.

Was thinking Avid BB7s would suit, especially in the wet. A bit more regular loving than hydros, but super simple to keep sweet.

I remember a v-brake being the only brake that when I first tried it, it sent me over the bars.
Admittedly, i was coming off some fairly average cantis at the time, but it was a bit of an eye opener.
