OK here goes a big update, didn't realise I'd got so far behind...

yelloroadie, markie5, emjay, n_whiteside, emjay, murphyflair (about time you got those last two in eh ;) ), return of XCguy - in style :o (Ahad where are you?), markie5, emjay (fills in last time, now on top rung and biting at my heels :hmmm: ).

What a glorious weekend to be out in the hills :D
I got overtaken on summit road yesterday by Paul Jesson, don't know how much credibility my excuse has though - I was 4 hours into a 7 hour MTB ride but he has only one leg

Some okay times for me today and some improvements to previous times. Just rode SB's and without really trying I clocked a 17m38s Dyers-Kiwi & a 9m5s Lyttelton-Evans

Entire circuit from Dyers round-a-bout and back via Heathcote valley was 1h15m30s with an avg speed of 30.7kph. That's actually a pretty good time :)

Looks like the legs are coming back to some fitness. Beautiful morning to be out too.

Didn't think Evans Pass was too bad really.

Good times Al B. Better than my recent ones up Evans. Its a bit rough heading down to Lytt but you don't notice it too much going up. You doing FoC this year? You should do rec as you haven't probably had time to get fitness up for elite. You'd do well.

Got a couple of times that I'll post for interest. Tuesday did 23:30 from Purau bay to top of saddle. A week ago did 22:48 from bottom of Gebbs( bays) to top of the Bastard. Not great times, but thought I'd post them anyway

Nice to have Evans open again. Impressive new rock faces :o

I saw a guy in his 70's cruising along the Summit Road on a road bike with a massive smile having the time of his life. I love seeing that sort of inspirational stuff. I hope I can be in his place in 40 years time.

Ohhh! Didn't see these ones! Nice times btw XCguy! Great stuff. Nearly ready for a few efforts myself as need to see where I'm at in my training for FoC.

I wondered when you'd pop out from under your rock for some agressive FOC prep hillclimb action :)

C'mon boy, I've got a couple of minutes on you now - whatcha gunna do about it? :sly:

Good to see Al_B and Ahad back, XCguy's been lonely up top  ;)

=} 5 weekends to go before Spring KOM points are awarded (30 Nov). Btw: I removed the autumn KOM points to leave 3 rounds (E.O. Winter, Spring and Summer), reasoning that after the summer peak it is unlikely to get much movement after this point (see post 2 for current points table).

Nah, I'm over big races. I'm into the little ones. Raced twice this year and won both so not keen to break my 100% success rate! :p Probably do a few Ruapuna races as they suit my riding style. Might target Main Divide next year for a giggle - just B grade this time though.

Might ride long Bays on Dec 4th at 8:15am though for a...ummm... training ride. I hear there might be a bunch ride leaving from PMH around then. :paranoid:

Did a season PB from bottom Gebbies to the top which was good. Pretty crap conditions when I went on my ride (after 4pm) as the Nor easter was blowing quite hard then. Oh well at least I'm continuing my tradition of headwind PB attempts :hmmm:

20:56 from the bottom Gebbs (bays side)
Including 15:10 up the Big B(cattlestop to cattlestop). Couldn't get over 14kph on that last straight due to my legs being blown and the headwind, so was a little disapointed as I thought I was on track to get under 15min at one stage...

Good to see you tightening the screws Ahad :sly:

Pretty impressive considering you had a NEer :o

Sub 15 should be a piece of cake for you in calm conditions and if you hadn't just ripped it up Gebs before that climb.
