Nah, the cough started the day after I won the Prebbleton race at the start of winter without so much as a cold. I just started coughing and haven't stopped since. It's weird. Apart from the cough I feel absolutely fine.

Your presence was missed in the last few weeks.

Why don't you just get all your medical crap sorted out then come back and join the fun :p :satan:

First time up Governors--> Dyers. Holy shit it's an epic climb. It's now my new favourite climb. Gets the heart racing really well :D That bit just before the top is a prick though.
I got up in 13.47 so pretty happy with that.
What is up with that wind though? Looks like it's changing to a southerly now.
It was definitely a nor' wester when I was going up dyers though.

OK first post,

Cleaned up the rubble from the earthquake at home and since there was no club race ( or power or water) i decided to time myself up Hackthorne to SOK. Earthquakes seem to improve my hill climbing as I recorded 17.26, the first time under 20.00 since last summer. The road up to SOK seemed fine, but plenty of damaged roads around the downs and halswell. The summit road was closed.
Then the power came back on and i heard that they were reporting that there may be severe aftershocks. maybe i should have stayed at home.....

Long Bays in the drizzle this morning - abit of an easterly and cool. Put some comments up on road conditions on the earthquake road condition thread.

Some improvements on times for the two climbs, but nothing startling - what with an unplanned long winter layoff, trip to Oz and now the earthquake, condition is not really where I would like it to be.

Gebbies - 7:51
Lyttleton>Evans - 12;21

OK life goes on...

Updates from malcs, murphyflair.
And the following brave post EQ conditions to get posting again: emjay, 6bikes - who opens with an impressive 17:26 up Dyers within hours of the '7.1' (maybe some adrenelin involved there?, anyway welcome on board), and TT man.

We did Gebbies and the Bastard this morning and must have encountered the same magpie  - horrible things. Should set up a thread listing where magpies are active

Wind not very nice in places so no times worth posting :(

Ok cross-over poster here. Probably going to be like one of those people on the mtb board who only posts a Rapaki time... Anyway - Dyers to SOK - 19.12. Not ashamed to say my road-foo is not strong :) . Must be my mad skillz which make me (semi) competitive off-road.

Time to get on this hillclimb bandwagon, so chalk me up for a 10:32 for climb 1, Sumner to Evans.

:o Er, no, I'll leave that to the GPS boys to confirm!
I think I'm going to suffer when I finally manage to hit the hills properly again, feels a looooong time since the summer season finished :(

Anyway, some of you are getting out there, the weekends updates are in, welcome to the two new starters
Hey lets get that earthquake thingy out the way, fix all the roads, get the Magpies euthanased, order some sunshine and get Spring kicked off properly eh ;)
