1 Rapaki - Bottom gate (end of seal) to top gate (summit rd).
2 Bowenvale East side (old Bowenvale singletrack) - from lower gate (opposite jumps) to summit rd (top of Huntsbury). Must include the new sections which are slower than the original (still open) track sections
3 Bowenvale West side starting from the end of Bowenvale Av (end of seal) to Victoria park top car park (summit road), choose your own route! Recommended route for newbies via 4WD tracks: Up valley track, right at double drop which takes you up steep section to a clearing, follow the main track around to left, this turns a bit rocky and snakes it's way up to the 40 footer area, take the right hand track which goes straight up steeply to the skidder site, then to the left there are various track options, take the main 4WD track that climbs steeply through the trees, this then rolls over to a small descent, keep right and go up a small climb to a large clearing, turn left at the clearing and head for a narrow cattlestop, then turn right to take the 4WD track that snakes it's way up to the summit road carpark to finish.
4 Worsleys - from flat section 110m past the bottom gate (natural drainage channel) to 5m before the top gate (when climb starts to shallow).
5 Crocodile/Kennedy's - From cattle stop at bottom of Crocodile to Summit road at the top of Kennedy's (style at summit road), route description: When you exit the Crocodile, go straight ahead onto 'Take the Low Road' and follow that singletrack all the way until it rejoins the main Kennedys 4WD track near the crest of the climb, head over the stile or through the gate and take the right hand turn (at the blue bike sign) onto the Siberia singletrack which descends down to join the main track at the Saddle gate.
6 Bridle path from start of dirt track at Gondola station to summit road

Procedure:
=} Open to anyone. Simply time yourself for one or more of the above climbs and post your time in a reply to this thread. Mfw will then update the above table.
=} The table is sorted by number of times, then rider rankings. Your ranking is calculated from your time as it relates to other's times (rating estimates get more accurate as number of climbs go up). Rating scale: 100 = average, 120 = 20% faster than average, 80 = 20% slower than average.
=} Times for season 3 are from 22 June 2010 - 31 May 2011.
=} The par table below provides a target time for each climb based on your ranking.

Rules:
=} A registered time has to be in neutral conditions, i.e. no wind assistance, only really effects Rapaki.

Well, no time like the present, so chalk me up for a Rapaki time of 21:58. Plenty of room for improvement. :D

Ok, I'll get into things nice and gently with a super slick (apart from the frozen bits) Worsely - 22.00. Some interesting moments on the way up including breaking a pedal during a impromptu dismount :paranoid: but stoked to clear the Bodybag in the mud.

Question about #6, is the single track after the crocodile (Siberia track?) included, or just up the main road?

Welcome pb, I assume you mean #5, the answer is no, since if I think you are talking about the newer pieces of track they did not exist when this board was started. However, we could change the route at this point if there is popular demand, it's always a shame to take a 4WD track when there is a single track option. What do you think XCguy?

Welcome back Jemetech, brave move tackling Worsleys in these conditions.

Yes, I was meaning #5. I think it would be good to include the singletrack. Shouldn't make any difference to when it can be ridden since the crocodile will be close in bad weather anyway.

I agree with you mfw. I know for me, riding up there and taking the 4WD rather than Take the Low Road and Siberia seems such a shame. The only reason it is like that on this board is so those doing our hillclimb series can post their times. BUT, despite a good turnout at our series we get very few coming on here afterwards and posting up their time. So I vote we change to use all the singletrack between the Crocodile and the Saddle for this leaderboard. We can't change the course we use in our hillclimb serries though without having marshals up there to police it.

Good plan  I always used the extra singletrack in my climb times anyway, seemed a shame to waste the opportunity.

OK lets do it then, fix a new course for Kennedy's, more singletrack goodness

So, what is the route description, can someone do better than this?:
Crocodile... Lt onto Kennedy's then [at some point]take the single track on the right which then rejoins the main track then at the crest of the climb take the right hand turn (at the blue bike sign) [Siberia?] which descends down to join the main track at the gate... blah blah blah...

There is also a short section further up on the right hand side just after the slight downhill. I don't think it is worth making it part of the official route, it will only be a few seconds slower anyway. I will probably ride it anyway since singletrack is betterer than 4wd.

Worsley running pretty good today (well, you know... in a Worsely kind of way :) ). Tried to push it a bit - only 4 or 5 dabs but ready to chuck by the top. 18.55. Great to see quite a few people heading up that way.
