I was goign to post this earlier - I am so sorry someone has done this to you as it will always tarnish your view of NZ. :(

I do hope you get them back. They will be difficult for the thiefs to sell and the people that would buy them know they are stolen so hopefully they will be returned to you!

I'm very surprised they weren't insured. Could you not get insurance from anyone for them?

Here are the bikes – I photographed Zeph and Sarah on the Alpine Epic in February – they are really nice people so I hope the mountain bike community can look after them by keeping an eye out for their distinctive bikes.

Thank you very much...we are really crossing our fingers and staying hopeful. Don't worry, NZ is not tarnished for us, just dismal at this very moment. It is even worse because we have been having SO much fun on those bikes since we got here...we want them back! Thanks~

I really want to say "shut your face"

But I am too polite.

thanks...i know the intent was good...but i can't tell you how many times we have heard it! maybe there was a way to get insurance, but all our research, there was no way to get insurance to cover these bikes...no content insurance as we were traveling, no traveling insurance as it only went u to $1k/bike...maybe we didn't have insurance because we are going to get them back...then, just a really large alarm system and a good baseball bat ;) in the meantime i am hopeful.

Fucking Fuckers!
Real sorry to hear. They are some really nice bikes. You have a set of eyes in Taranaki! Also will talk to bike shop owner tonight who gets all around NZ with biking stuff and knows a lot of other biking people. Hope they get found. Then you can come biking in Taranaki :p

Calm down..... I was asking a genuine question. Since I've never traveled overseas with my bike, I don't know what you can and can't do with regards to insurance.
