I think ursavage is talking about the drop half-way.

But I didn't think it was 2.5 metres, more like 1 metre

I was planning to have a go at it the next time I am in Rotorua......but if it is 2.5 metres I will be too scared to do it now!!!!

I was disappointed it wasn't included in the first N-duro race :paranoid:

Same, at least they didn't tape off the drop on Billy T, gutted I forgot about the step up after it.

Last time I was there with Mr Bob and co. there was a drop that looks big, but it's more of a steep roll in than a drop. Easily doable on a hard tail. You do drop if your going quick, but not 2.5m, the total descend including transition might by 2.5m

Your description sounds about right.

OK this is turning into far more of a mission that I planned... lol.
Perhaps there was some mild exaggeration in my description
It did leave an impression with me ... :0
Let's just say it was bloody steep (felt vertical off the lip) and I looked up at my friends standing on the edge contemplating if they was gonna ride it - they were above my head ... :D

I am surprised this has caused so much discussion - it was rather a stand out obstacle (unmarked too might I add). Like I said before, not necessarily hard - but a mental challenge.

Damn it - I will have to hunt it out on my next trip and get an action photo of me falling down it to show you all what I am talking about. I will also attempt to get an accurate description of its location to avoid further confusion. :satan:

I hit that little drop last time I was in rotorua. Unfortunately my bars rotated on landing, which was, well, let's say it was an odd experience. So I didn't hit the step up either...

I know the one you mean. That trail was great fun the first time I ever rode it, chasing a local so boosting everything

Certainly interesting hitting the gap at the end with pace on the single speed, almost took out a tree with a wobble on the landing

Sorry to redredge an old thread, but I have a photo :) First time I saw it, I didn't ride it, second day there was a camera there so yeah!
It is definitely a mind of matter thing, was easily rideable, just keep your weight back.
