Is Part Of Woodhill Being Felled?

Postby cantthinkofaname on Tue 18/Dec/07 1:09pm

I have heard rumours for a while that parts of Woodhill are due to be felled, and I was wondering if anyone has any details? I've heard that it may be Big Mumma and Link and that the trees are to be made into paper as they are too old now for much else. I saw that a number of the trees on link had painted numbers on them the other day so thought the rumours may be true.

Does anyone know any facts about this?

the numbers on the trees have been there for years (since we started riding there about 3 years ago) best thing to do is email info@bikeparks.co.nz they will tell you if they know anything.

Try contacting Bikeparks directly

All you'll get from here is rumour and/or heresay. :)

I did notice the new paint on the trees on Link on the weekend too.:paranoid:

all of the trees in woodhill forest are only suitable for paper, they are of inferior quality.

all commercial forests get logged at some point in time..... Rotorua and Woodhill are no exception.

Its a bugger when tracks get lost to felling. But thats the way it goes. At Whitford we've lost or about to loose all the old tracks :(

But if we loose tracks, it means new ones can be built

woodhill, I read, is 36000 acres. (not sure if it was 36000 square acres or just normal)
