Im Gutted I really think Thor would have taken this race if he didnt crash.

He was looking damn strong and his sprint is equal to boonens so it would have been a much more exciting finish
if they hit the velodrome together

Thats Roubaix though, anything can happen.

And my pick Pozzato would have won but he crashed...
And Flecha but he crashed....

But nobody rides the cobbles better than Boonen and thats why he stayed upright when it mattered most.

There will be plenty of "what if" stories but the rest weren't good enough on the day

Maybe its the "coke" Tom has in his bottles that drives him faster.....

You're a worse (vicarious) loser than Pozzato.

I tried to do the whole thing but got to about 80km to go and just was too tired to hold it together - I DNFed. :(

But I did say to myself I thought Boonen looked like he'd win...

Only seen what was on Eurosport news this morning... the motorbike crash looked really nasty with spectators being flung everywhere like rag dolls. 16 people hospitalised!! Hopefully everyone's not too seriously hurt. Allez Boonen... another great victory. He'll be able to start building himself a pave driveway soon with all the Roubaix trophies he's collecting.

Chavanel got 8th! That's a good performance from him, especially as he's no cobbles expert.

Great and powerful ride by Boonen, despite Businesstime's spiteful insinuation...

Boonen was certainly the strongest and deserved to win. He was first onto all the last 3 or 4 pave sections and left the others crashing behind them. Fantastic bike swap with about 30 km to go, and he got straight back on the group again. He did crash somewhere on the course but made his own luck past the forest.
Silence Lotto really stuffed up. Hoste was looking good and keeping out of the wind, but Van Summerant spent a lot of time setting the pace for the whole group. I reckon they should have sent VS up the road much earlier and let Boonen chase him down to set Hoste up. They are complaining about Fleche crashing in front of them, but they certainly didn't race very cleverly, and would never have had the legs if it came to a sprint. Hushold must be gutted as well, it would have been a great duel if he and Boonen had hit the velodrome together.
You could hear the crowd booing Pozzato on TV as he was chasing Boonen after all the crashes. Looked like a great day out.
